The Fisher & Sons Funeral Home from “Six Feet Under”

Oct 29th, 2010 | By | Category: TV Locations

One location that I stalked well over a year ago, but for whatever reason have yet to blog about, is the Victorian-style residence which stood in for the supposed North Hollywood-area Fisher & Sons (and later Fisher-Diaz) Funeral Home on the immensely popular HBO series Six Feet Under.  Amazingly enough, up until yesterday morning, I had never seen even one episode of the show and, unfortunately, I have to say that after watching the pilot episode yesterday morning, I wasn’t all that impressed with it.  […]

The “Thriller” House

Oct 28th, 2010 | By | Category: Michael Jackson Locations

Today, in honor of Halloween, I thought I’d blog about what is arguably the most famous haunted house of all time – the Victorian-style residence that was featured in the 1983 music video “Michael Jackson’s Thriller”.  Even though I’ve actually already blogged about this location once before (way back in December of 2007 when I first started my site!), because I mixed it in with a post about Halliwell Manor from Charmed which is located on the same street, I thought it was about time […]

Mountain View Cemetery from “The Office”

Oct 27th, 2010 | By | Category: The Office Filming Locations

Since my favorite holiday, Halloween, is fast approaching, I thought it would only be appropriate to devote the next few blog posts to some filming locations of a spookier nature.  So, this past Sunday morning, Mike, from MovieShotsLA, the Grim Cheaper, and I went on a joint stalking venture up to Altadena to stalk Mountain View Cemetery which appeared in the Season 4 episode of The Office titled “The Chair Model”, among countless other productions.  I first found out about this locale from my parents’ […]

Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch . . . A Second Time

Oct 26th, 2010 | By | Category: Celebrity Sightings

This past weekend, I dragged the Grim Cheaper out to one of my all time favorite Halloween-themed stalking locations – Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch in West Hollywood.  The family owned and operated patch, which is located on a vacant plot of land on North Doheny Drive in between Keith and Harland Avenues, has been serving L.A.’s west side since 1986 and each year during the month of October is the place to see and be seen in Southern California.  And even though I’ve actually blogged […]

Touring Paramount . . . Again

Oct 25th, 2010 | By | Category: Uncategorized

I spent this past Friday on the Paramount tour and doing some other miscellaneous stalking with my good friend and fellow stalker Lavonna and a group of her girlfriends, who were all in town visiting from Ohio.  Because we were out and about all day, I did not have time to write a post for today, but I promise to be back tomorrow with a whole new location.
So . . . until that time, Happy Stalking!

The Old Zoo In Griffith Park

Oct 22nd, 2010 | By | Category: Movie Locations

Just around the corner from the Griffith Park Merry Go Round, which I blogged about yesterday, is the location of the park’s former zoo – an abandoned site  which is commonly referred to as the Old Zoo or the Old Zoo Picnic Grounds.  I first found out about this location from favorite stalking tome Hollywood Escapes: The Moviegoer’s Guide to Exploring Southern California’s Great Outdoors and was shocked to discover that in the almost decade that I’ve lived in Southern California and in all of […]

The Griffith Park Merry Go Round from “The Mentalist”

Oct 21st, 2010 | By | Category: TV Locations

One location that I have wanted to stalk for almost two years now, ever since November of 2008 when it appeared in the Season One episode of The Mentalist titled “Seeing Red”, was the merry go round where Patrick Jane (aka Simon Baker) lured murder suspect Travis Tennant (aka Noel Fisher).  The only problem was that I had absolutely NO idea whatsoever where to find it, as in my ten-plus years of living in Southern California the only merry go round that I had ever […]

Stadium High School from “10 Things I Hate About You”

Oct 20th, 2010 | By | Category: Movie Locations

Yet another location that I stalked while vacationing in the Pacific Northwest this past May was Tacoma’s Stadium High School – the spot that stood in for Padua High in the 1999 teen comedy 10 Things I Hate About You.  The Grim Cheaper and I, along with our good friends Kerry and Jim, visited this locale on our last day in Washington, whereupon we met up with fellow stalker David and his daughter, Olivia (pictured above), who live in the area.  I was especially excited […]

The “Black Sheep” House

Oct 19th, 2010 | By | Category: Movie Locations

Another location that Mike, from MovieShotsLA, and I stalked last Monday afternoon was the supposed Buckley, Washington-area home where Mike Donnelly (aka Chris Farley) lived in the 1996 comedy Black Sheep.  Fellow stalker Owen tracked down this location – along with pretty much every other locale which appeared in the movie – quite a few months back and the place has been on my To-Stalk list ever since.  But because I rarely make it out to the Eagle Rock area, I had yet to visit […]

The House Where Matt Damon and Ben Affleck Lived While Writing “Good Will Hunting”

Oct 18th, 2010 | By | Category: Celebrity Homes

A few months back, Mike, from MovieShotsLA, was doing some research on the town of Eagle Rock when he came across a Wikipedia page which mentioned that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck had lived in the Los Angeles neighborhood – in a home on Hill Drive – while writing the screenplay for their 1997 Oscar-winning movie Good Will Hunting.  I found it a bit hard to believe that Matt and Ben, two twenty-something actors trying to make it in “the biz”, would have been living […]
