The Red Robin Restaurant from “Newlyweds”

Dec 2nd, 2009 | By | Category: TV Locations

While Mike, from MovieShotsLA, and I were out doing some Valley stalking a couple of months ago, we decided to made a pit stop at the Red Robin restaurant in Calabasas for lunch.  Even though I am not now nor never have been a big Jessica Simpson fan, I had been dying to stalk the restaurant ever since it had appeared in a Season Three episode of the Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson reality series Newlyweds.   Truth be told, though, I was really just using the […]

Big Oaks Lodge from “Beverly Hills, 90210”

Dec 1st, 2009 | By | Category: 90210 & Beverly Hills, 90210 Filming Locations

Before I left on my New York vacation just about two months ago, Mike, from MovieShotsLA, and I spent a day together stalking in and around the San Fernando Valley.  And even though we had a long list of places to stalk, the location we were most excited about seeing had to be a place called Big Oaks Lodge, which was used in the Season 2 episode of Beverly Hills, 90210  entitled “Camping Trip”.  Before arriving at Big Oaks Lodge, I was actually a little […]

The “30 Rock” Building

Nov 9th, 2009 | By | Category: TV Locations

One of the locales at the very top of this year’s New York vacation’s must-stalk list was the main building featured on my new favorite television show 30 Rock.  For some reason, until we rented the series earlier this past summer, neither my fiancé nor I had ever seen even a single episode of the NBC comedy.   For years we had both heard how great the show was, but, for some odd reason, had never tuned in.  So, when we finally sat down to watch […]

The Houses from the Movie “Big”

Nov 3rd, 2009 | By | Category: Movie Locations

Right around the corner from The King of Queens house, which I blogged about on Friday, are the two main houses used in the 1988 Tom Hanks movie Big.  And when I say “right around the corner”, I literally mean RIGHT around the corner.  The King of Queens  house and the Big  houses are located a scant 88 yards away from each other!   Too cool!  So, of course, since Owen, my fiancé, and I were already in the area stalking the Heffernan house a few […]

Halloween 2009 at The Nest!

Nov 2nd, 2009 | By | Category: This and That

I hope my fellow stalkers had an absolutely fabulous Halloween 2009!  As I’ve mentioned many times before, Halloween is downright my favorite holiday.  I pretty much look forward to it all year long!  So, today I thought I’d take a little break from my New York blogging to write a post about this year’s Halloween adventure, which took place, yet again, in Palm Springs, where my fiancé and I had been invited to a little All Hallows’ Eve party.  As you know, the two of […]

The King of Queens House

Oct 30th, 2009 | By | Category: TV Locations

As mentioned in Wednesday’s post, I have many stalking adventures to share from the day my fiancé and I spent with fellow stalker Owen in New York City, including one that actually led us off the island of Manhattan and into the Garden State, aka New Jersey.  In all of my many trips to the Big Apple, I have only actually been off the island once and even then I only ventured as far as Brooklyn.  So, leaving Manhattan to head to an entirely different […]

John Barrymore’s Apartment Building

Oct 29th, 2009 | By | Category: This and That

Another Greenwich Village location that Owen, my fiancé, and I stalked during our recent whirlwind day in New York City was the Greek Revival townhouse where beleaguered actor John Barrymore – Drew’s grandfather – once lived.  For three years, from 1917 to 1920, John rented the top floor penthouse of the building pictured above, which was originally constructed in 1839.  Barrymore decorated his apartment, which he nicknamed the “Alchemist’s Corner”, with Gothic elements including gold wallpaper, fake wooden beams, ironwork accoutrements, and stained glass windows.  […]

Julianne Moore’s House

Oct 28th, 2009 | By | Category: Celebrity Homes

While in New York a couple of weeks ago I had the absolute pleasure of finally meeting fellow stalker Owen in person.    Because Owen lives in nearby Connecticut, the two of us made plans to get together for one stalking-filled day during my Big Apple vacation.  So, early on the morning of October 2nd, my fiancé and I ventured out to Grand Central Station to finally meet up with Owen.  And, let me tell you, the three of us had an absolute blast together.  […]

Grand Central Station

Oct 27th, 2009 | By | Category: TV Locations

Yet another Gossip Girl  filming location that I stalked a few weeks back while vacationing in Manhattan is the train station known as Grand Central Terminal.  But being that Grand Central has actually been featured in more than a few hundred productions since it first opened in 1913, it’s not really accurate to refer to the place simply as a “Gossip Girl filming location”.  Truth be told, being that the building is a National Historic Landmark and has been in operation for close to a […]

The Central Park Conservatory Water

Oct 21st, 2009 | By | Category: Jennifer Aniston Locations, Sex and the City Filming Locations

Because I spoke only very briefly about the Central Park Conservatory Water in yesterday’s post regarding the filming of Gossip Girl, today I thought I’d do a more in-depth blog on that location and the myriad of filming that has taken place there over the years.  So, here goes.     The Conservatory Water is so named because in the original plans for Central Park, which were drawn up in 1857 by designers Frederick Law Olmstead and Calvert Vaux, an oval-shaped conservatory, or greenhouse, containing tropical […]
