Courteney Cox’s Former Malibu Beach House

According to fave website Real Estalker, Courteney Cox and David Arquette have just sold their John Lautner designed Malibu beach home for a cool $33.5 million. I stalked this unique home a couple of years ago, back when I was trying to locate Jen Aniston’s beach house. I knew the Arquettes lived on Carbon Beach, the same small stretch of land where Jen’s house is located. While searching for Jen’s house, I passed by an extremely interesting home, unlike any I had ever seen before, and I knew it had to be the Arquette’s.

At first I thought the house was extremely weird and ugly, but I must admit it has grown on me. I am starting to really like John Lautner’s unique and dramatic style of architecture. His space age inspired homes have been used in countless movies, including Charlie’s Angels, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, Lethal Weapon 2, Body Double and Diamonds Are Forever.

Stalk It: The Arquette’s former beach house is located at 22426 Pacific Coast Highway on Carbon Beach. While stalking that house, you can also stalk Jen’s former home, located just down the road at 22164 Pacific Coast Highway. The Arquette’s new home is located near Paradise Cove at 27460 PCH.

I Have Got to Get Me One of These!

While driving this weekend, I happened to pass by this interesting contraption and just had to stop and take a pic! LOL! Apparently “Dan, the Handyman” is willing to rent out his boom-lift to paparazzi for picture taking at those hard-to-stalk locations.

This device would have come in handy when I stalked Brad and Jen’s old house, as I could not see anything over the tall gates and trees that surround the estate. Supposedly, a few years ago – way before she went crazy – Britney Spears stalked Brad and Jen’s house and she actually stood on top of her SUV to try to get a look inside the gates!! She should have just saved herself the trouble and called Dan and rented one of his bucket-lifts!

Stalk It: You can rent Dan the Handyman’s bucket lift by calling (310)892-6748. I am sure it even comes in handy for non-stalking activities. Brad and Jen’s former house is located at 1026 Ridgedale Drive in Beverly Hills. Rhea Perlman and Danny Devito live next door at 1028 Ridgedale, but apparently their home is currently for sale.

Brad and Angie’s Gate!

After Brad Pitt left Jen Aniston for Angelina Jolie – that jerk! – he purchased a beach front home on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. Brad and Angie lived at the house on and off for about a year. Although Brad still owns the home, the two have not stayed there in quite some time and rumor has it that he is trying to sell it. I’ve heard that the house is kind of shabby and pretty run down inside! LOL That’s what he gets for ditching Jen!

As far as stalking Brangelina’s house goes, I wouldn’t really recommend it. The only part of the house you can see from Pacific Coast Highway is a very nice, modern style gate. I would recommend stalking on Zillow instead – you get to see a lot more. 🙂

On the way to stalk Brad and Angelina, stop in at the Trancas Center Starbucks where Kevin Dillon is a regular or at Hows Trancas Market, where I happened to see Cheech of Cheech and Chong fame.

Britney Spears’ Former Santa Monica Condo

Got a comment from Kayli today, who challenged me to find Britney Spears’ house. Since Britney’s current home is located far from public view in a gated community, I thought I’d instead blog about a past residence of Ms. Spears. While Brit did not call this condo home during any of her recent mental breakdowns, it is the very spot where she lived when her romance with Kevin Federline blossomed.

Long before there was a Sean Preston or a Jayden James, Britney Spears lived in an ocean front condominium in Santa Monica, California. Before her marriage to KFed, the two spent a lot of quality time at the 1221 Ocean Condominiums – most of it outside on her balcony smoking cigarettes.

I found this location thanks to my boyfriend, who used to work in Santa Monica. Everyday he’d drive by this building and wonder why hundreds of men with cameras would be standing outside, until it finally dawned on him who lived there.

Britney Spears still owns this condo, and rumor has it that her brother Bryan Spears currently lives there.

Stalk It: Britney Spears’ Santa Monica condo is located at 1221 Ocean Avenue. Just down the street, at 202 Wilshire Blvd., is Houston’s Restaurant, where KFed’s bachelor party was held before he married BritBrit. After their respective bachelor/bachelorette parties, KFed and Britney spent the night at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel at 101 Wilshire Blvd. In the movie Fracture, the Fairmont Miramar served as the hotel where Anthony Hopkins’ wife had her affair.

Rainy Day Stalking at Jennifer Aniston’s Former Beach House!

I am still reeling over the fact that I got to meet Kristin Cavallari last night! I am still pinching myself! Anyway, I digress . . .

In honor of today’s rain storm, I thought I’d blog about a rainy day stalking adventure I had a few years back – the day I found Jennifer Aniston’s Malibu beach house. Jen rented this beach house shortly after her separation from Brad Pitt. Sad to say, this location was a very hard one for me to find. I had been looking for it for quite some time, being that I am totally and completely obsessed with all things Jen, and I knew from several blogs that it was located on a stretch of beach known as Carbon Beach – but I still could not seem to locate it!

Then one VERY rainy day, US Magazine published a really good picture of Jen’s beach house and I knew that, using the picture as a resource, I would most likely find the house! So, as usual, I dragged my poor boyfriend to Malibu – in the pouring rain – to do some stalking. We spotted the house right away while we were driving along Pacific Coast Highway and then parked to get a beachfront look. Thankfully Jen’s house is fairly close to the public beach access for Carbon Beach, so we didn’t get completely drenched walking in the rain to her house.

Jen’s house was absolutely adorable!! One of the most darling houses I have ever seen! It is a fairly small, two story, brown shingled home, and it just looks so Jen! I loved it! Sadly, Jen no longer rents this house, which is owned by Oracle C.E.O. Larry Ellison. She has permanently moved to a new Hal Levitt designed home in Beverly Hills. But I’ll save that one for a future post!

Stalk It: Jen’s former Malibu beach house is located at 22164 Pacific Coast Highway. Just a few houses south of Jen, at 22126 Pacific Coast Highway, is the ginormous beach house of David Geffen. Don’t get too close to Geffen’s house, though, as he is not too keen on sharing his beach with the public. Remember, these houses are private residences, so don’t trespass or disturb the owners! After stalking Jen’s house, head to the Malibu Country Mart, located at the corner of Cross Creek Road and PCH, for some star studded shopping and dining. Nobu, one of Jen Aniston’s favorite restaurants, and Britney’s preferred Starbucks, are both located there.

Howard Stern’s Building

Why oh why did this article just come out today when I am already back on the West Coast?? Apparently Howard Stern is very upset that Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have moved onto the same block where he resides. While I was in New York this past week, I was obsessively keeping my eyes peeled at every children’s playground in Central Park hoping to catch a glimpse of Jennifer Garner and little Violet. Had I only known they were living just steps away from Howard, whose apartment my boyfriend and I stalked on our last trip to NYC!

My boyfriend is a HUGE fan of Howard, and while he gets extremely embarrassed of my stalking, he didn’t at all mind stalking Mr. Stern. AND while we were taking pictures outside of his building, Beth Ostrosky walked outside and into a waiting car. She was really beautiful in person and quite tall!

I found Howard’s apartment in my trusty John’s New York Star Map – don’t leave home to stalk New York without it!

Reminder – this is a private building! Do not attempt to enter the building or bother the residents!

New York, New York!

Well, today I am heading to my other favorite coast – New York City – for a short vacation! Since I won’t be blogging for the rest of the week, I am leaving you with a few of my favorite NYC stalking locations! It’s actually quite possible I have found more filming locations in Manhattan than I have in LA.

On my first visit to New York three years ago, the one absolutely-I-would-not-get-on-the-plane-home-until-I-found-it stalking location was Carrie’s brownstone from Sex and the City. I ended up locating the street the home is on through an extensive Google search that took me about 4 hours – not that I was obsessed or anything!

Our first day in New York, my dad had a consultation with a heart surgeon (the entire purpose of our trip, actually) and I remember asking the doctor if we could speed the tests along as I had to get over to Greenwich Village to find Carrie’s house! 🙂 Once his tests were finally over, I headed to Perry Street in the Village and walked up the short, absolutely adorable, street, until I found the house. I recognized #66 immediately from its ornate front doors.

Just a few blocks away is Sarah Jessica Parker’s house, which I did not locate until the following year. This location was a lucky find! I had happened upon John’s Star Maps: New York Cityon Amazon.com one day and immediately ordered two copies, hoping it would be a good stalking resource. I was completely floored to find SJP’s address listed as 57 Charles Street. (That is my best friend and I in the picture.)

Just a few blocks away from both locations is Magnolia Bakery, which was used in an early episode of SATC. You may remember Carrie and Miranda sitting on a bench out front eating cupcakes. Well, in real life, there is no bench – but there are cupcakes! The BEST cupcakes in the entire world, actually! When the gourmet cupcake craze hit LA early this year, I sampled each and every bakery in the hopes that one would be as good as Magnolia. How sad was I that none even came close! So, unfortunately, I can only get my fix once a year when I visit NYC. And let me tell you – absence does make the heart grow fonder!

Anyway, I am off to NYC! Maybe I will happen upon SATC: The Movie being filmed!!!!!

Perry Street is one of my favorite streets in all of New York – it is the quintessential New York Street – probably why they used it for SATC. SJP’s brownstone can be found just one block south at 57 Charles Street. Remember these are private homes – do not trespass or disturb the residents! Magnolia Bakery is located just a few short blocks away at 401 Bleeker Street – don’t be deterred by the long line, it moves fast.
