    1. Found one location, through other resources and lots of concentrated Google map scanning. Visited the location twice, took great photos. Fun!

  1. The back to the future parking lot, is in fox hills mall
thats where marty and the doc, where testing the delorean in the parking lot, at night, and with watered down the lot, to give reflections. lol. 🙂
that’s where marty first went back in time. and, also the doc was shot there , which prompted marty to run from libyans, and into delorean. friend of mine owns 2 deloreans a stick and an auto. test drive with me. was amazing.

    1. The Back to the Future mall parking lot is actually the Puente Hills Mall off of the 60 Freeway in Puente Hills/Hacienda Heights in Los Angeles County.
The JC Penney on the background in the movie is now a 24 Hour Fitness.
The mall went through a slump in the late 90’s and early 2000’s but has really surged back up in the last ten years.

  2. Hi Lindsay, I was wondering if you could locate the Dehlia Draycott mansion from the 2007 film Nancy Drew. IMDB lists it as somewhere in La Canada-Flintridge, it looks to me more like Pasadena or Hollywood. Please help! It’s driving me nuts!

  3. Greetings, Lindsay!

Me and my fiancé, Justin, are about to embark on another L.A. stalking adventure! One of the things high on our list that we just can’t seem to figure out are some of the locations used in “Knots Landing” in the Palos Verdes/Palos Verdes Estates/Rancho Palos Verdes area! Now, I have found some stuff, such as the iconic Point Vicente Lighthouse that appeared over the closing credits of some of the earlier seasons and the beach that they utilized heavily in the first season, which is actually Redondo Beach (387 Paseo De La Playa, Redondo Beach, CA 90277).

There are three things on my “holy grail” stalk list of “Knots Landing” that would make me geek out in FANdemonium: the opening shot of the pilot where Sid Fairgate drives up to the cul-de-sac (I know that was done near the ocean because, as you know from your previous stalking adventure, the cul-de-sac is in the Valley), the point at which Sid Fairgate plunges to his ultimate demise (another ocean drive), and the home of the Fishers where poor Valene’s twins were kidnapped and spirited off to and then there’s that iconic slow-mo shot of Joan Van Ark turning around just as one of her twins is being driven off in a car. I would owe you a HUGE debt of gratitude if you were able to help me find these locations, or, at the very least, give me some tips. I would be more than happy to provide you with any and all screen caps you need.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Lindsay!

  4. I was wondering any filming locations for the 1990 movie Nobodys Perfect starring Chad Lowe. I always loved that movie and wanted know the filming locations.

  5. Hey Lindsay,

I absolutely love the movie “Made of Honor” – mainly because of Patrick “McDreamy” Dempsey.

As I will be going to NYC this summer I’d love to see some of the locations this movie was filmed at. One location I would particularly like to see is this store where “Tom” and “Hannah” go shopping for a wedding gift for his father. It looks like a kind of deprtament store where you can buy vintage stuff. Is this a real shop in NYC?

    Thanks for your help!

    Cheers,
    Alexandra

  6. PLEASE HELP ME FIND THE HOUSE USED FOR EXTERIOR SHOTS ON “EVEN STEVENS”??? I’m going to California next month and I wanna try to visit it! (That is, if it’s an actual house. I hope it wasn’t shot on a lot…)

Here are photos of the house!

And, this one shows an address “10321” – but I don’t know if that’s the real address. HELP!

  8. Hi Lindsay! You know I’m a huge fan of your blog–I never thought anyone would like stalking celeb houses and filming locations as much as me! SO here’s a challenging one I’ve been wanting to know for years. Matthew Gray Gubler appeared on Celebrity Ghost Stories and said when he first moved to LA, he lived in an old building right in Hollywood that was super super haunted. I guess it’s a pretty historical, renowned building but not of the ultra famous/expensive caliber. Can you find the building? I have two pictures that I think are good clues that narrow down the area

The link above shows that he is right in front of the Guinness World Record Museum on the Walk of Fame, so the apartment has to be right by there/

I’m curious because I’m moving to LA and want to check out this building and area! This will probably be a piece of cake for you Lindsay, if you don’t know it already

    1. My best guess from the rooftop pic is the Alexa Suites at 1746 N. Cherokee Ave. I’m not entirely sure, though. Did they show the building in the Celebrity Ghost Stories episode?

      1. Hmmm. On CGS it said it was a charming, historical old building in the heart of Hollywood, and MGG was originally just going to live there short term, (which appear to be what Alexa Suites provide). He said it was eerily decrepit hotel but had a Great Expectations sort of charm to it and had an old bell buzzer intercom system in the front. It was built in the 1920s by Paramount to house the actresses they had under contract. When he moved in, (early 2000s I think), he said it was full of a ton of older people that were very eccentric and artsy. He also says the lady who ran the building showed him an old old scrapbook someone had kept over the years with clips and cut outs of actresses that had lived there and gone on to be successful. Im not sure if the pics in the video are it, or just for staging. Here is the video. http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMzc1NDczNjM2.html
        what do you think?

        1. Yeah I found the YouTube video online and watched it. Did you look at the Alexa Suites? View matches perfectly to rooftop photo. And building is quite old and charming. The only building I found that was built by Paramount is the Hudson Apartments at 6533 Hollywood Blvd. But the view doesn’t match his photo. Though that building is reported to be haunted. I think the building shown in video wasn’t his actual building. And I also think the names might have been faked. I can’t any Hollywood historian named Richard or a screenwriter named Harry Stewart. I asked one of my stalker friends who knows scads about old Hollywood if he had any ideas.

  9. Hi! I recently moved to LA (Hollywood area) but I haven’t much luck seeing celebrities. I found out that my favorite show, Teen Wolf, is currently filming in LA. I would love to know how to go to the set and see some if the cast especially Dylan O’Brien, Holland Roden, and Tyler Posey. Also, I heard that Dylan was making an appearance at B&N located at The Grove. Is this true? I would LOVE your help!

  10. I believe “Family Affair” exteriors were shot at the Wilshire Regent apartments, 10501 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90024.

  11. Ok this is a real challange. In the 60’s TV show Family Affair they showed a building which was the location of the Bill Davis apartment. This showed as a stock shot in many of the program’s first scenes. Can you find the building? It was supposed to be in Manhattan, NY.
